Why choosing MBA CPM is a great decision I made

Enrolling in a post-graduate course can be quite taxing and identifying one that suits you might prove to be a challenge, especially after a technical course such as Bachelor of Technology/Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or Architecture. With the same trepidation, I chose Master of Business Administration in Construction Project Management at RICS School of Built Environment, Amity University, Noida.

Halfway through my course, I have realized that choosing this course was quite a good decision and some things are unique about the course here:

1. Industry Oriented Curriculum

The subjects in the course are quite realistic and their applications can be seen in the real-life, which makes it a fun course to pursue. Each concept that is taught can be seen in the world around us. There are a lot of topics that are relevant and aligned with what the industry is looking for right now. Having an experience of over 2 years in the domain, it was encouraging to see the industry-specific courses in the curriculum.

2. Practical Approach to Learning

Another thing that makes the course interesting is that the learning is quite practical oriented and the approach that the faculty takes is to make sure that we understand the applications of the concepts we are learning. With assignments that take us to real-life projects and their analysis, it serves 2 purposes: students get a practical approach of subjects and secondly start developing connections with the industry.

3. All Round Development Approach

The school is not just about academics. With an active student body, the institution encourages all-round development for all of us. With debates, cultural events, fests and more, each day at the college is a learning opportunity and at that, a fun learning opportunity. Apart from these, there are subjects which take up personal grooming, public speaking, Organizational Behavior that ensure that the student takes away something more than the domain learnings.

4. Excellent Industry Connect

Being an industry-led course, a course at RICS SBE ensures that no learning avenue is left unexplored, and for that guest lectures and leadership lectures are organized at regular intervals which ensure that the students get to learn from the industry and understand the applicability of the concepts that are being taught. These interactions help the students and the faculty correlate case experiences to theoretical learning, thus ensuring a 360-degree learning curve.

5.Distinguished Faculty

While the college environment and the curriculum are important, one factor that makes my experience of pursuing MBA (CPM) at RICS SBE is the presence of some extremely distinguished and talented faculty members who go beyond the usual to make sure that each one of the students is catered to. My experience has been quite interesting with the faculties as they have been there for me, even on weekends and late nights to clarify doubts on many topics, be it course-related or not.

While a course cannot be defined in just 5 points, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that choosing to pursue MBA (CPM) is a great decision if one wishes to look for a techno-managerial development in their course pathway. With the right amount of the mix of technical aspects as well as managerial education, this is a dish with the perfect amount of ingredients. One gets to experience just the right amount of theory, practical and life to get something one can cherish for their life.
