My career got a direction in my undergraduate studies, given that I was always inclined to Real Estate. It’s been 2 years since I’ve completed my bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) in Real Estate & Urban Infrastructure (REUI) from School of Built Environment, RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors). I believe that it was one of the best academic decisions that had placed me on the right career path towards my long-term goal. 

 I gained my first-hand learning opportunity in this sector as my family has been into Real Estate Development (Colonizing) from the past 40 years. Hence, to enhance my skills and knowledge about the Real Estate Sector I pursued a bachelor’s degree from RICS SBE, as it was one of the most reputed institutions for education in Real Estate in India enjoying a world-renowned status with presence in almost 150 countries. 

RICS was a real game-changer for me in several avenues that helped me during my Masters (MSc. Enterprise & Business Management) while I was in the United Kingdom. 

Further, when I went to the UK for my masters, I was confident, because of my prior education in a multi-lingual environment (at RICS SBE) which had estranged my barriers and developed my networking skills. 

UK was altogether a very enriching experience helping me gain practical insight as well as become independent. Education abroad is a lot about the practical application of academic knowledge, luckily being from an institution with a similar learning environment in India, this shift of culture and education became very convenient for me. 

It was in the UK, I realized the skillset that RICS  had inculcated in me, be it honing my quantitative and analytical skills as well as teamwork and leadership qualities which reflected in my projects in my postgraduate studies. 

The faculty at RICS SBE is immensely determined and focussed on making their students deal with deadline pressures and helping them get a real-time experience at the very start of their careers. Multiple assignments and project submissions taught me punctuality and ways of dealing with pressure, which ultimately added value to my dissertation in my postgraduate studies. 

Guest lectures from big industry giants helped me gain a vast understanding of the in-depth industry knowledge and market trends that would revolutionize the way people would start thinking about Real Estate. 

Further, the knowledge imparted by them about the art of dealing with people, helped me imbibe the value of Customer Relations and understand the importance of Human Resource.

RICS SBE brought me closer to achieving my long-term goal of being an entrepreneur. Hence, today I can unleash my potential to the best of my abilities and add value to my family business.
